Our nursery provides a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment where children begin their learning journey with confidence and curiosity. We follow the Development Matters guidance within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring that learning is carefully planned to meet each child’s individual needs.

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure clear progression in knowledge and skills, with a strong emphasis on secure foundational learning. We prioritise the development of communication and language, including vocabulary-rich conversations and storytelling.

Physical Development is carefully planned to build the strength, stability and coordination children need for writing, with a strong focus on core strength, gross motor control and fine motor skills to ensure they are physically prepared for early mark-making and letter formation.

We place strong emphasis on early reading, with Phase 1 phonics and the development of phonological awareness carefully planned and explicitly taught whilst also being woven through our daily routines, play and provision. This ensures children are fully prepared to begin their Read Write Inc. journey with us in the Summer term, enabling them to start school with confidence and a strong early advantage.

Early mathematics is carefully planned in line with the White Rose approach, developing secure number sense, counting, comparison, pattern and spatial reasoning through practical, hands-on experiences that build deep and lasting understanding.  

Through purposeful play, exploration and meaningful experiences, children build secure foundations step by step, preparing them well for Reception and future learning. Each child is supported by a dedicated key worker who develops a strong, nurturing relationship with them and works closely with families to ensure every child feels safe, valued and ready to thrive.
