Hello! I hope that you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine, apparently this week's weather is going to be good. This week's work is all based around the seaside. The holidays are fast approaching so some of you might be visiting the seaside soon. If you do, have a FANTASTIC time and make sure you build some sandcastles and eat lots of ice cream!

This weeks English work re posted as I left some Maths work on the end of the other one which may have confused you!

Good morning everyone. I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend! Enjoy this weeks learning, and enjoy the lovely sunshine that we are going to have. I am having some problems uploading a Foods from around the world power point but I will keep trying!

Mrs Chapman

Hello everyone. We hope that you are all safe and well. Please find this week's learning based on the story of the Carrot Club. We are aware that some parents do not have access to a printer, although you can collect learning packs from school; so as from next week we will try to make the learning more accessible in that the activities will be less worksheet heavy, and can be done without if needed.

Hello Year 1!

Welcome to our class page.

All home learning activities will no longer be posted on the school website. They will be found on your Class Dojo page (https://www.classdojo.com). A text has been sent out with details of how to log in. Any problems please feel free to contact the school for more information. There are still general resources, websites and games below for you to use.

Below is an outline timetable to use. This will help to structure your day, and ensure that your child is accessing lots of areas of learning, and also refreshing their knowledge of what they have previously learnt in school.

If you are unsure yourselves of any of the material, then we have also added a list of helpful (and free) websites that provide more information.

At the very bottom of the page, there will also be links to ideas of events, activities etc that you can join in with from the comfort of your own home.

Stay safe and have fun!

Phonics

Below is a message from Mrs Chapman about which phases the children in Year 1 should access. This is followed by links to other resources.

Tricky Words: These cannot be sounded out, the children need to remember these by sight.
Letters and sounds: these are the sounds that the children need to learn by sight and to recognise them in words to read.
Segmenting and blending (sounding the word out, and reading it back altogether).
