Oakwood Infant and Nursery School follows the admissions arrangements made by Derby City Council.  To apply for a school place for your child, either for Reception Year or an In-Year Transfer, please contact Derby City Council School Admissions:

School Applications (In Year and 2024)

To submit an application for your child's place at our school, please contact Derby City Council School Admissions using the contact details shown above.

We normally offer school tours/'Open Evenings' on different dates during the autumn term for parents who will be applying for a Reception place for their child to start in the following September.

We normally also hold one or more 'Open Days' during the summer term for prospective Reception and Nursery parents to meet the staff and look around the school and nursery. 

Nursery Applications (In Year and September 2024)

Oakwood Infant and Nursery School admits children to our Nursery the term after their third birthday.

We offer a choice of free 15 hour places at the start or end of the week or extended funded 30 hour places Monday-Friday, subject to eligibility.

We now have only limited places available to join our Nursery in September 2024.

Our main Nursery admissions are in September each year, however, we may be able to offer your child a place to start in either the January or April following their third birthday, subject to availability.

Alternatively, you can obtain more information and download a copy of our current Nursery Waiting List form from our 'Nursery' webpage under the 'Information for Parents' tab at the top of the school website.

In the event that applications for our Nursery exceed the total number of places available, the school follows the same admissions criteria as for Derby City Council primary school admission arrangements.
